http://www.bigcozybooks.com/ Easy to clean and very durable after three years. Our very expensive wooden benches and chairs are falling apart faster. We have two benches, loveseat, eraser, and pencil. The public loves these (even adults).

Look at the burgeon group at burgeongroup.com for interactive stuff for kids.  I love their stuff!

We purchased colorful furniture from Worden for our children's area over 15 years ago and it still looks great.  Very functional and lots of adults want to sit in it to read to kids or just be near when their kids are reading or doing homework.  We ordered several tables and chairs in lots of different bright colors.  Our mindset was that if it was multi-color and we wanted to add to or replace then we could order whatever color was available to match and we wouldn't have to replace all of the furniture at once.  However, this has held up so well we have not had to get any replacement furniture.

For the soft furniture, we purchased regular size chairs and then a couple of love seats from Worden.  They look like they are made for kids because we picked some bright appealing upholstery.  Many people are surprised that the furniture is a regular size because it looks cute. We have had to recover the love seats 2 times in 15 years because often the upholstery that looks great and appealing to kids doesn't come in a more heavy duty material.  The love seats get the most use by parents sitting with their children.

We also purchased some inexpensive "egg chairs" from Ikea.  They are bright, cute, and will only fit one child at a time.

http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80100251  They cost about $80 each and we think of them as disposable because they do not last that long, but they do add some cuteness.
